In summer of 2012, I had the privilege to meet a wonderful lady named Kris. For the few months that I had with her, she became one of my best friends. I invited her to Thanksgiving dinner, and then the Sunday before her and her two boys were supposed to come over, she passed away from medical complications. In the time I had with her, she told me about the rough life she had in the foster system and after she aged out. She was planning on providing assistance to teens aging out of the foster system as soon as she could get the education to do so.

Because my friend Kris never got to see her dream become a reality, we are taking up her cause.
Now, here is what we are currently working on:

We are working toward opening a family shelter in either Marysville or Yuba City, CA for families. There are very limited resources for families in our area at this time. Our business plan is in the works, and we are working on getting all of the business side of things set up (incorporation, 501(c)3 filing status, etc.).

We know there is a very strong need and are very excited to get this going.
